Do systemic bone markers reflect bone injury in active Charcot foot?

Do systemic bone markers reflect bone injury in active Charcot foot?

Victoria Milbourn,Theater

Charcot neuro-osteoarthropathy (CNO) is a destructive condition characterised by inflammation and bone injury in the foot. In clinical practice, there are limited tools to assess disease activity. This study examines whether systemic bone turnover markers reflect the severity of bone injury at diagnosis, using MRI, X-ray and foot skin temperature difference. The findings highlight differences between imaging and biochemical markers in how disease activity is captured
